I was just watching Olympic downhill skiing and saw a really neat new video trick. To compare the ways two guys went down the course, they overlaid the video of one guy onto the other's! In order to do that, they'd have to be the exact same camera movements.. which makes me wonder... are the cameras all motorized now? If they are, that explains how they could shoot each skier with the same exact framing. But what if the skier wipes out? How would a motorized camera follow? So I'm thinking the cameras are still manned. In which case they must have some wicked software at work that can line up two videos that have the same content with slightly different framing. Either way, it's pretty cool stuff. :)
